About Contact Lenses

Almost everyone that wears glasses can enjoy the freedom of contact lenses. If you have never worn contact lenses before, our optometrist will assess your eye health and dimensions and find a contact lens to best correct your vision and suit your lifestyle. She will also instruct you on how to insert and remove your contact lenses and how to disinfect them ensuring increased comfort and success.

A broad range of contact lenses is available from single use daily disposables to the new "breathable" monthly contact lenses. These lenses allow much more oxygen to go through to the cornea, therefore allowing the patient to wear them for longer and even sleep in them in most cases. A special coating on these lenses also makes them more comfortable for patients with dry eyes or those who work in air-conditioned environments that can dry out contact lenses.

These "breathable" contact lenses are available in spherical form (for those patients with short-sightedness and long-sightedness), in toric form (for those patients with astigmatism) and in multifocal form (for those patients over 40 who also need to wear reading glasses).
